Composite fencing Guelph, ON

Picture
As recently as three decades ago, there were no real alternatives to wood when it came to privacy fencing.  Vinyl began to take off in the 1990s as an alternative to wood that would often be subjected to insect infestation, frequent maintenance and less than ideal durability.

In the past decade, however, a newer material for fencing and decks was developed to address the shortcomings of vinyl fencing.  It utilized a composite material that was typically over 90% recycled plastics and wood.  Although vinyl was the low maintenance material of choice at the time, composite fencing boasted features such as:

A) Improved durability - due to is density and thickness, a composite fence can last decades.

B) Minimal maintenance - as with vinyl, composite fences require little in terms of maintenance.  An occasional visual inspection or cleaning is all it really needs.

C) Better aesthetics - when compared to vinyl, composite planks mimic somewhat wood's ability to absorb some of the pigment rather than it sitting very superficially on the material like PVC.  The effect is a more natural look, and minimizes the "plasticky" look of vinyl.

One of the potential downfalls of composite is its much higher price point than the vast majority of fencing materials available on the market today.  Trex composite fencing, an industry leader, can charge upwards of $120 per linear feet and in some cases more, as compared to a typical $80 per linear feet for standard pressure-treated wood fencing.

If your long-term budget allows for composite fencing, however, it really is a great investment for someone who's living in a forever home, for investment purposes as the ROI is relatively high, and for someone who loves a durable, low maintenance and beautiful fencing or deck option.

Guelph Fence is proud to provide and install composite fencing for your home or business, while doing it with precision, care and a great warranty.
